LaBarbera & Associates P.C. is a distinguished boutique law firm specializing in representing New York Law Enforcement.
In January of 2024, Doug LaBarbera established his own firm, LaBarbera & Associates P.C., with a primary focus of representing members of the New York City Police Benevolent Association in civil cases.
Prior to starting his own firm, Doug was an associate at the law firm Worth, Longworth, and London LLP, for eleven years. The firm was responsible for representing members of the New York City Police Benevolent Association in various legal matters. Doug began working as an intern in the firm’s civil division in 2004 and reached the position of Senior Associate before the firm dissolved in 2023.
Doug has dedicated his legal career to tirelessly defending law enforcement officers accused of civil wrongdoing. As a product of a law enforcement family, Doug takes a tremendous amount of pride in fighting for law enforcement officers each and every day. He has defended hundreds of law enforcement officers accused of civil wrongdoing in the areas of civil rights, workplace harassment, personal injury, wrongful death, and motor vehicle negligence. Doug has experience handling all phases of civil cases, in federal and state court, from inception through appeal. Doug has adopted a client-focused approach to his practice and leverages his understanding of technology to achieve great results for his clients. Doug brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every case he handles. He understands the challenges faced by law enforcement officers in today's ever-changing legal landscape, and he is committed to helping our clients navigate these challenges with skill and confidence.
Doug received his B.S. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Legal Studies from Towson University in 2008 and a J.D. from the Touro Law Center.
He is admitted to practice in the courts of the State of New York, as well as before the United States District Court in the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
